I will review your pcb schematic and layout and provide a detailed design audit
About this Gig
Catch Problems Before They Cost You a PCB Spin
A design review from an experienced engineer is the cheapest insurance you can buy before sending to fab. I've reviewed boards for startups, engineering teams, and solo makers and I find things that automated DRC simply misses.
What I check:
- Schematic errors: floating pins, missing pull-ups/downs, incorrect polarities, power sequencing issues
- Layout issues: poor component placement, EMI risks, thermal hotspots, insufficient copper
- DFM problems: tombstoning risk, solder mask issues, silkscreen conflicts, unmanufacturable features
- BOM: obsolete or hard-to-source components (Premium)
Deliverable: A clear written report with flagged issues, severity ratings (critical / warning / suggestion), and recommended fixes. Annotated board files included in Standard and Premium.
This gig is ideal if: You're about to place a fab order, you've had unexplained failures on a previous revision, or you want a second set of expert eyes before sign-off.
FAQ
What files do I need to share?
Schematic PDF + board file (or Gerber) for layout review. Native files (KiCad, Altium) preferred but not required.
Will you fix the issues you find?
The review gig identifies and explains issues. Fixes can be quoted as a separate order or I can handle them directly if needed.
How detailed is the report?
Issues are listed with location, severity, and a recommended fix. Most reports run 1–3 pages and at times 3–6 pages
My board already passed DRC, why would I need a review?
DRC only catches rule violations. A human review catches wrong values, suboptimal placement, signal integrity risks, and real-world manufacturability issues that tools never flag.
Can you review boards designed in tools other than KiCad/Altium?
Yes, EasyEDA, Eagle, and OrCAD files are fine. PDF exports work for schematic-only reviews.
