Does your system only pull catalog data from 1688, or does it also automatically place orders with suppliers when customers purchase?
You can pull catalog/category wise data. Also, you can search via text and image to place order. Currently, it doesn’t redirect to suppliers with auto order. Order process is manual with product link of 1688.com
Will your platform handle USD → RMB supplier payments, or would I still need a China agent to complete purchases on 1688?
Our website handles both USD and RMB or other currencies. To purchases from 1688, you can do it by yourself. No direct payment options from our current system. If you want this features, we can develop this.
Can your system connect with real shipping lanes and push live tracking numbers to customers?
Currently no. Because we developed for client with their business policy. If you want to integrate with real shipping integration, we need to check business scope within 1688.com if they allow or not.
Will product pages be fully editable titles, images, descriptions so there’s no trace of 1688 vendors, and can orders be shipped with packaging?
Currently it is not possible with 1688.com api as of I know. They are developing AI featured image processing, they will launch this feature for trials. In near future, you can do it.
How many SKUs can realistically run (1,000+), and how often will pricing & inventory auto-sync?
API has limits. You can pull 20 products in one request
After delivery, do I fully own the code, hosting, and database, or am I tied to your system for updates?
You can own fully. Source code, database and everything.
Do I need to have a 1688 account?
Yes, you will need to provide your 1688 account details to enable the API integration. I can guide you through the setup process if needed.
