Every author needs a brilliant book blurb as a selling point! A book blurb is what you'd find on a novel's back cover or inside the jacket flap. A great blub should persuade a reader to dive right into the story without giving too much away.
Creating enthralling book descriptions is one of my favorite roles of being an editor. I will craft a 150-200 word hook by using a tried-and-true formula commonly known in publishing. This includes 2 rounds of revisions based on your vision.
Once you've selected me to devise a stellar book blurb, these are the steps we'll take:
- Send me a 1-2 page synopsis of your story
- I will prepare a first draft of your book description
- I will modify that draft based on your feedback
- We'll have a follow-up email session to discuss any open questions
- I will deliver the final blurb for your review and feedback
** Please submit your synopsis in a MS Word (.docx) file. The blurb I create will be sent in the same format.
** I am mostly experienced in the following genres: thriller, suspense, mystery, romance, literary and commercial fiction

1. Do you write book descriptions for non-fiction books?
Not at this time.
2. What do I need to provide?
A 1-2 page synopsis of your story from start to finish. No need to withhold the ending because I will not include spoilers in the blurb. But I need a big picture understanding of where your story is headed.
3. What is the difference between a book blurb and a synopsis?
A synopsis is a linear outline of the important plot points of your story from start to finish. A book blurb is a 150-200 words sales pitch for potential readers that never include spoilers.
