How large are your classes?
Class sizes vary depending on enrollment. All students will receive personalized attention - even in group settings.
What can I expect from the initial lesson?
The initial lesson includes an exam, and discussion of goals. The exam will be utilized to help customize future lessons and homework.
What if I do not know enough English for the initial lesson?
We will start you in beginner lessons!
What if I do not have time to complete my homework?
Your homework will be personalized to your own strengths and weaknesses. Completing it will help improve your skills. I suggest scheduling one-on-one if you do not have time to complete homework. That way we can focus on improving your skills.
Do you teach kids/teenagers?
Yes - one-on-one lessons are provided to those from the age of 13-18.
What can I expect from classes?
Participation. Learning a language is more than just studying. You will actively be addressed, speak to the class, and grow together. Sound scary? It is. Speaking to the class is an opportunity to grow; and to see that we are all still learning.
Are classes recorded?
Generally, no. You will be informed in advance if a class will be recorded.
Do I need to be on camera to participate?
No. A microphone is required for all classes though.
What is your teaching background?
I began teaching ESL 13 years ago. I started with a small international company teaching teenagers on summer vacation with their family. I moved on to teaching adults with a focus on corporate learning and every day tasks. 3 years ago I began teaching safety lessons.
What are you like as a professor?
Dedicated. From the start I have created custom tests and lesson plans for my students. Engaged. I am not afraid to sit at the same table and be "on the same level" as my students. Practical. I would have lunch with my students and ask them about their experiences in the states.
