How do I claim the discount?
Just book before April 30 – the price is already adjusted!
What is mastering, and why can't I do it myself?
Mastering is the final step in producing music for professional consumption. The mastering engineer uses their abilities, equipment and experience to subtly enhance the mixed track using different techniques designed to serve the music. Experience here is the key!
How should I export my mix for mastering?
Use a high-quality format: WAV or AIFF. Export at the highest bit depth and sample rate: A bit depth of 24 bits and a sample rate of at least 44.1 kHz are generally recommended. Leave some headroom: Export at -6 dB.
What's the difference between mixing and mastering?
With mastering, your final mix is complete. All effects are on the the individual tracks, the levels are set, and I am receiving one WAV file to finalize. Mixing deals with the individual tracks (stems), so you would send me each stem that's in the recording session for more control over the sound.
What genres do you work with?
I have worked with all genres of music. I have clients that I work with in the following categories: Pop, Rock, Hip-hop/Rap, Country, R&B/Soul, Electronic/Dance/Hardcore/DNB and more! But I'm specialized in all styles of techno. As my roots are in Techno, I get booked for this genre the most.
I found out there is an issue in my mix after the mastering is completed, can you master the new mix?
It happens sometimes that you find an issue in the mix after the mastering is completed so I would highly recommend double-checking your mix before submitting it. If you do find an issue in the mix after mastering is completed, no worries. I save everything for 1 year and I don't ask for more money.
What is a streaming master?
Streaming services like Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube, etc all volume limit now. The tracks on these services are limited (around -14LUFS). They all also require a -1db True Peak. The master is optimized to work best with these requirements. Be aware, these masters can't get played in clubs etc.
