I'm Robin, a professional editor, writer, and publisher who's worked with authors on Fiverr since 2013. I aim to guide your rewrites with clear, actionable feedback so you know exactly what to improve and how to move the manuscript forward.
Developmental editing focuses on the big-picture elements. For fiction and memoir, I review your manuscript with attention to plot structure, pacing, character development, narrative arc, and scene effectiveness, and provide detailed feedback to help you shape the strongest possible version of your story. For nonfiction, I comment on content, structure, and more.
You'll receive:

Can you help me publish my book on Amazon KDP?
Yes! I can walk you through the process step by step. I also offer editing and formatting services in case you need more hands-on assistance.
What genres are you experienced in?
I'm a versatile editor comfortable across all genres, especially nonfiction, business, self-help, memoir, YA, sci-fi, horror, fantasy, thriller, mystery, and romance.
What kind of files do you work with?
I work with Microsoft Word documents only. Please submit a Word file for editing!
What will I receive with a developmental edit?
You’ll receive detailed comments throughout your manuscript along with a comprehensive editorial letter explaining strengths, areas for improvement, and practical suggestions for revision. The goal is to give you clear guidance so you know exactly how to strengthen the story during the rewrite.
Is developmental editing the same as line editing or proofreading?
No. Developmental editing addresses the structure and storytelling of the book. Line editing and copyediting focus on sentence-level clarity and grammar, while proofreading is the final stage that catches typos before publication. Developmental editing usually happens earlier in the process.
What are your revision policies?
As developmental editing is purely feedback-based, it includes one additional "revision," which is an opportunity to ask follow-up questions.
Is my manuscript ready for developmental editing?
Developmental editing works best once you’ve completed a full draft of your novel. It doesn’t need to be perfect, but the story should be complete so the overall structure, pacing, and character development can be evaluated.
Will you rewrite parts of my book?
No. My role is to provide professional editorial guidance, not to rewrite the manuscript. I’ll explain what is and isn’t working in the story and provide clear suggestions so you can revise the book while maintaining your own voice as the author.
Do you accept incomplete manuscripts or early drafts?
For developmental editing, the manuscript should be a complete draft of the novel. This allows me to evaluate the full story, including plot structure, pacing, and character development. If you’re still in the early drafting stage, it’s usually best to finish the manuscript first.
