Quite a lot, actually, especially with issues caused by the usual household and office hums, echo from room walls, and the like. But this will NOT eliminate sporadic sounds such as dog barks, clicks, honks, static, etc., that go over your dialogue. Again, the best audio starts with the recording!

After you've done your mic check, sit quietly and record 20-30 seconds of silence before you start the session, then include this with the file you're sending your editor. This is called room tone, and it's your editor's best friend and the easiest way a you can save money and improve your audio!
