Do I need to give you my QuickBooks or Sage 100 login?
Yes, I'll need accountant/read-only access to your QuickBooks Online, QuickBooks Desktop, or Sage 100 Contractor file, plus view-only access to your bank/credit card feeds. I never need full admin control, and your data stays confidential.
My books haven't been updated in months — can you still help?
Absolutely. Cleanup and catch-up bookkeeping is one of my specialties. I'll assess how far behind you are, quote a fair cleanup rate per month of backlog, and get you fully reconciled and current before starting monthly service.
What's the difference between job costing and regular bookkeeping
Regular bookkeeping tracks money in and out. Job costing breaks that down by project and cost code, so you know if Job A actually made money, not just your business overall. This is essential for contractors and subcontractors.
Can you handle WIP reports and AIA billing?
Yes — Work-in-Progress reports, progress billing, and AIA G702/G703 invoicing are included from the Standard package up. These are key for tracking project completion percentage and getting paid on schedule.
Do you also handle payroll or certified payroll?
I provide certified payroll support and reporting for compliance (Davis-Bacon/prevailing wage jobs), but I don't run payroll disbursements directly. I can work alongside your payroll provider or recommend one.
How long does it take to see my first monthly report?
For ongoing clients, reports are delivered within 3–5 business days after month-end (faster with the Premium package). For a first-time cleanup, timeline depends on how far behind the books are — I'll give you an exact date after reviewing your file.
