You receive a DOCX with tracked changes and a clean copy. The larger copyediting package also includes a short style sheet covering the choices used in your text. I preserve your preferred British or American spelling and flag wording that needs your decision rather than inventing a meaning.
Please send a short sample and your total word count before ordering so we can confirm the right level of work. These packages cover 2,000 words of proofreading, 3,000 words of light copyediting or 6,000 words of light copyediting.
Developmental editing, major rewriting, research, fact-checking, citations and formatting are not included. If the sample needs deeper work, I will say so before we begin. Tell me any restrictions on AI-assisted tools before ordering so we can agree the workflow.

What is the difference between proofreading and light copyediting?
Proofreading fixes spelling, punctuation and clear grammar mistakes in otherwise finished text. Light copyediting also improves sentence clarity and consistency without rewriting the work or changing its meaning.
Is this developmental editing?
No. Structure, plot, argument, pacing and large-scale rewriting are not covered. Send a sample first if you are unsure what the manuscript needs.
Will you change my voice?
I aim to keep it. If the meaning is unclear or a change would alter your intention, I leave a query rather than make up an answer.
Do you verify facts and references?
No. Research, technical validation, citation checking and fact-checking are outside these packages.
Can I send a whole book?
Send the total word count and a sample first. The listed packages cover their stated word limits. Longer manuscripts need a separate quote and schedule.
How do revisions and AI preferences work?
One revision covers corrections or clarification of the same submitted text, not new chapters or a rewrite. State any no-AI requirement before ordering so the workflow can be agreed and honored.
