I will provide developmental editing for your novel or memoir
Level 2
Has met high performance criteria and has a proven track record for meeting client expectations.
About this Gig
You've finished a solid draft of your novel (or maybe you're stuck somewhere in the middle), and you know it needs work--but you're not quite sure exactly how to "fix" it.
As your developmental editor, I focus on the "big picture" elements of your book, suggesting key revisions that will tighten the story, strengthen your writing, and keep your readers engaged from the opening hook to the final scene.
I'll provide a deep analysis and detailed feedback that will help bring your book one step closer to publication. You'll receive extensive margin notes as well as a comprehensive edit letter on the following areas of your book:
- Narrative structure (cohesiveness of plot, story arc)
- Character development (motivations, backstory)
- Conflict/tension (within scenes and throughout story)
- World building (narration, descriptions, visual imagery)
- Pacing/continuity of action
- Themes or other takeaways
I can work on any genre of fiction or nonfiction, with a preference for Young Adult, paranormal, suspense, urban fantasy, literary fiction, and mystery.
**I can work on stories or books of any length. If your word count doesn't fit the packages, please contact me for a custom quote!**

FAQ
Which software do you use to edit?
I use primarily Microsoft Word, and you will be able to see all my notes and changes with the "track changes" feature. If you have another type of software you prefer, please send me a message and I will do my best to accommodate you.
Does this gig include line editing and proofreading?
No, this service doesn't include proofreading or line editing. After the developmental edit, you may make significant revisions/changes, so I recommend line editing and proofreading as a final step to a complete draft (I do offer an add-on for these services, or you can order from my other gig).
