I will record live rock, indie, or punk drums
About this gig
Over the 20 years that I've been playing drums, I've always approached the kit with a song-centric perspective. And I have garnered the skills necessary to elevate a song without over-stepping that important supportive role.
Drummers I admire include: Brad Wilk, Morgan Rose, Chris Houck, John Stanier, and Sam Loeffler.
I record in my own studio with typically 8 mics on the kit:
01 kick (inside)
02 snare top
03 snare bottom
04 rack tom
05 floor tom
06 room mic (mono)
07 overhead left
08 overhead right

FAQ
Can you play doublekick?
Yes, I can play some doublekick, but not usually super fast or complex things.
What kind of mics to you use?
I use a mix of mics that I have collected over the years. I use a Sennheiser E602II on the kick, Sm57 for snare top and bottom, Shure PGA for toms and room mic, and Samson C02 for overheads. All practical, hardworking, quality mics.
What kind of cymbals do you use?
Lately I've been using a set of Kingdo Artist series cymbals. They sound great.
