Rest assured, I am an "old-school" editor who does all editing personally, line-by-line, word-by-word. AI has its uses, but it also misses a LOT of errors. Beware those offering edits of vast amounts of words in very little time. I prioritise accuracy over timescales.

I am flexible. If you are US-based (or targeting a US audience), you tend to follow the Chicago Manual of Style. UK authors tend to use New Hart's Rules. Others might choose a bespoke style based on one of these. Whatever you prefer, let me know prior to ordering and I will try to accommodate you.

I will edit and proofread most genres as I am an avid reader of most things, however, as an author, I have written 3 memoirs and 3 crime/fiction novels. If you add the experience and knowledge gained from a previous career as a police officer, I would say that I "specialise" in these areas.

I can do Developmental Editing if you wish (as an add-on), but it does take longer. Should I encounter anything that I consider needs attention whilst conducting my packaged editing, I tend to use "comments" to draw your attention to it. Others might charge extra for this.
