About this gig

This project provides a complete, userfriendly License Plate Detection and Recognition System built with Streamlit. It integrates YOLObased object detection models for accurate licenseplate localization and supports multiple OCR backends, including GLMOCR and Qwen2.5VL, to extract text from detected plates with high precision. The application allows users to upload images or videos, automatically detect plates, perform OCR, visualize results, and download processed outputs. It is designed to run efficiently on both CPU and GPU, with automatic device selection and optimized inference pipelines for realtime or nearrealtime performance.
