What types of documents do you edit?
I edit all types of documents. Some examples includes business letters, website content, product descriptions, company descriptions, sales emails, company brochures, short "How To" eBooks, research papers, essays, personal statements for college applications, and much more.
Are their any documents you do not do?
I do not edit fiction writing or books only because fiction writing/editing requires an entirely different skillset and I feel you are best to find someone with this skillset and experience. For example, with fiction writing, issues such as story arc and character development are tantamount.
Proofreading: What is it?
Proofreading is when you have a finished piece of writing - meaning it has been edited, laid out, and designed - and you need it checked for spelling and grammar errors. Proofreaders don’t suggest major changes to the text. They look for minor text and formatting errors only.
Line Editing or Copy Editing: What is it?
Line or Copy Editing includes checking material for grammar, spelling and punctuation but also includes fixing problems with transitions, wordiness, jargon, and ensuring the writing is clear, succinct, and engaging. This type of editing is far more in depth and time-consuming that just proofreading.
