Writing, playing, recording, producing, mixing and mastering the 1 track by yourself can be a long and exhausting task especially for your ears. After a certain amount of time your ears become so used to the sound that you even become used to the mistakes and obvious errors in the mix.

This is where a 2nd opinion from a fresh perspective can be extremely useful and save you a lot of time and heartache in the long run

As a producer, mixing and mastering engineer i know how important it is to stay neutral and the longer you work on something the more used to the sound you become (for better or worse) so that muddy bass or harsh vocal might become familiar to you and you no longer notice it as a detriment to your mix
