As a professional poet and poetry teacher, I bring more than 20 years of experience to assist you in revising and polishing your poetry. I will examine your poem's use of form (line, line break, structure); its content (clarity, scope, weightiness, etc); and its employment of poetic devices (metaphor, sound, imagery, etc). All critiques will assess both strengths of the work and opportunities for improvement, with suggestions and guidance in revision.

I've never taken a poetry writing course or received a formal critique. Is that okay?
Yes! I have worked with poets at all levels of experiences and with a variety of skill sets. My job is to meet you where you are.
What is your critiquing style like?
My approach to any piece of Creative Writing is derived from the traditional workshop approach. My aim is always to help the writer uncover the piece's intent and then work toward polishing the work in that direction.
What if you don't like my writing?
Assessing any form of art involves setting aside personal taste and utilizing objective tools to provide a helpful and meaningful critique. I'm highly skilled and experienced at this and treat every piece of writing with respect.
Do you rely on AI tools at any point in the process?
No. I never use AI tools when reviewing creative work. I want you to receive the benefit of my expertise and experience.
