What types of books do you edit?
I edit fiction and nonfiction manuscripts, including novels, memoirs, self-help books, Christian books, children's books, personal stories, and other book-length projects.
What is the difference between proofreading and editing?
Proofreading focuses mainly on surface-level errors such as grammar, spelling, punctuation, and typos. Copy and line editing go further by improving sentence clarity, word choice, consistency, readability, and flow.
Will you change my writing style or voice?
No. My goal is to strengthen your manuscript without making it sound like someone else wrote it. I preserve your voice, tone, and intended message while addressing issues that may distract readers.
Do you use Track Changes?
Yes. Where included in your selected package, I use Track Changes so you can see the edits made to your manuscript and review them easily.
Can you edit my entire book?
Yes. For longer manuscripts, please message me with the approximate word count and a sample before ordering so I can recommend the appropriate package or create a custom offer.
Can you edit my manuscript before I publish it on Amazon KDP?
Yes. I can edit and polish your manuscript before the formatting and publishing stage. My separate publishing/formatting services can also help prepare the finished manuscript for publication.
Can you work with a specific style guide?
Yes. If you have a preferred style guide or publisher-specific requirements, send them with your manuscript so I can follow them during the editing process.
Can you edit a manuscript that has already been edited?
Absolutely. A manuscript can benefit from a final proofreading or line-level review even after previous editing. Send me a sample and tell me what has already been done.
