About this gig
Changing your Shopify theme should not cost you the features you paid for. Custom sections, size charts, tracking scripts, app blocks and the structured data Google reads are exactly what gets lost in a rushed switch.
How I work: I start with an audit of your current setup and list every customization: where it lives and how it moves over. Port it, rebuild it as a section or block, replace it with a native feature, or drop it. You approve that list, then I apply it.
Migrations I handle:
- Update to the latest version of your current theme
- Switch to a new free or premium theme
- Vintage/legacy store to Online Store 2.0
Included: customization inventory, custom code and Liquid carried over, rebuilt sections and snippets, app reconnection, SEO and tracking check, desktop plus mobile QA on an unpublished copy. Your live store stays untouched until you approve.
Not included: license purchase, redesign, new features, content or product data changes.

Which migrations do you handle?
Three cases: updating to the latest version of your current theme, switching to a new free or premium theme, and moving a vintage or heavily customized store to Online Store 2.0.
How do you make sure nothing gets lost?
I audit the current theme first and build a customization inventory: every edited file, section, snippet, script and app block, with a decision for each. You approve it before I apply anything.
Will my live store go down during the migration?
No. All work happens on an unpublished theme copy. You preview everything, and we publish only after you approve. Your current theme stays in the library as a fallback.
Will I lose SEO rankings?
URLs, products and content don't change with a theme switch. What can break is theme code: meta tags, structured data, headings, alt text and alternate templates. I check and carry those over in every package.
What happens to my apps?
I check which apps inject code into the old theme, reconnect them as app blocks or embeds in the new one and remove leftover code from uninstalled apps. App settings and subscriptions are managed in your admin as before.
Which package do I need?
Version Update if you stay on your theme and only have code or style edits. Theme Switch for any new free or premium theme with custom sections. Complex Migration for vintage themes or custom features with their own logic. Unsure? Send your URL.
Do I need to buy the new theme?
Yes. For a paid theme you need a valid license in your store. I don't sell or share premium themes. Free Shopify themes like Dawn or Horizon need no license.
What do you need to get started?
Your store URL, the current and target theme, collaborator access and, if you have it, a list of changes a previous developer made. The audit finds the rest.
What is not included?
Redesigns, new features, custom apps, content writing and product data changes. If the audit shows something outside the package, I'll quote it separately before starting.
How long does it take?
Version Update 5 days, Theme Switch 10 days, Complex Migration 21 days. Please message me before ordering so I can check your theme first. That way the package and timeline fit before the clock starts.
