What exactly do you provide in this gig?
I design a custom PCB for one retro gaming console and specific mod function (video, audio, power, or adapter). You receive Gerber files, a schematic PDF, and a basic BOM so you can order and assemble the board yourself.
Do you send physical PCBs or install the mod?
I provide the files you need to manufacture the PCB and assemble it. You will place the PCB order with your preferred manufacturer and handle soldering/installation on your own or with a local technician. I have connections with pcb technicians around the world, so you can get it done and shipped.
Which retro consoles do you support?
I focus on popular systems such as NES, SNES, N64, Sega Mega Drive / Genesis, PlayStation, Game Boy, and similar classic consoles. If your console is not listed, send me a message with the exact model and photos, and I will confirm if I can support it.
What types of mods can you design PCBs for?
I can design boards for video mods (RGB, composite, HDMI interface), audio clean‑up or amplification, power filtering/regulation, and helper/adapter boards that make existing mods easier and cleaner to install. For more experimental or multi‑function projects, please message me first.
I am new to soldering. Is this gig still for me?
Yes, but please be honest about your skill level. I can adjust pad sizes, test pads, and connector choices to be more beginner‑friendly, and I will label the board clearly. However, you still need basic soldering tools and skills, or access to someone who can assemble the board for you.
Can you clone or copy someone else’s mod PCB?
I don’t directly copy other designers’ copyrighted work. If you have an open‑source design or a public reference, I can adapt or customize it for your console and layout needs, as long as it respects the original license. Otherwise, I will design a new board based on the functionality you describe.
I’m in a different country. Can you still help?
Yes. My designs use standard PCB manufacturing rules that work with popular board houses worldwide. You can order PCBs from any major manufacturer that accepts Gerber files.
What do you need from me to start?
I need your console model and region, a clear description of the mod goal, any photos of the motherboard and install area, and, if possible, links to reference diagrams or projects. The more information you provide, the better I can tailor the PCB to your hardware.
Can you handle complex multi‑function or full replacement boards?
Yes, but those are beyond this standard single‑mod package. For multi‑feature mods or large replacement boards, please message me first so we can discuss scope, cost, and timeline, and I can send you a custom offer.
