About this gig
Hi, I am Omotayo, a sewing pattern maker and PDF pattern designer.
This gig is specifically for PDF sewing pattern designers who want to create and sell sewing patterns of their women's wear designs.
Designs in this gig will have up to a maximum of 13 pattern pieces (including facing and lining pieces, if any). The pattern will also be graded into 6 other sizes (within the same size range), comprising 7 sizes total.
The finished pattern delivery will :
- be in preferred paper size and A4/Letter paper size tiles
- include a JPEG image of the tiled version to assist in tiling
- be annotated with all the necessary information, such as style name and number (if you use them), grain lines, piece name, etc
- include your logo (send us a PNG file of it)
- be Layered so users may print only the sizes they require
- be colour-coded with different line strokes for each size.
- include a chart of the finished garment dimensions.
- Fabric usage estimates are available for an extra fee.
- You own all the rights to the pattern made.

In what file formats will the pattern be delivered?

What software do you use to draft the patterns?
I currently use PadSystem, an industry CAD software and Adobe Illustrator.
Why don't you draft and grade the pattern at one go?
To avoid merry-go-rounds and to deliver to you a quality job, I prefer you to test the base pattern and sew a sample to allow me to make necessary revisions (if need be). Any issue not resolved at the sample size stage will escalate at the pattern grading stage.
Do you also sew samples?
While I can sew, I do not offer sample sewing as part of this gig. It is expected that you (or someone you find) does the pattern testing and sample sewing.
Can you write and illustrate my sewing instructions?
No, I am sorry. I however can help you create certain aspects that will be useful for the instruction set. Aspects such as your garment tech sketch/ line drawing; finished garment dimensions; Fabric usage estimate, cutting layout/Layplan with diagrams; and pattern pieces diagrams.
Can you also provide the Estimated fabric usage and cutting layout diagrams?
Yes, it is available at a custom request for an extra fee.
Why does this gig take 15 to 17 days to deliver?
So that you can have some time to sew a sample before we proceed to grading and other things. I will usually have the sample/base pattern ready for testing within 3 to 5 days. If you will be sewing a sample, you are expected to do so as soon as possible, then revert to me so I may complete the job.
Can I get completed digital pattern ready for sale but with my own brand name and exclusive rights?
This is called "Private Labeling" wherein I design, draft the pattern, sew samples, maybe conduct the pattern testing, write, and illustrate the sewing instructions all on your behalf. This gig does not cover such but if this is what you require you can contact me. This service starts at $1500.
Can you grade into more sizes or create more pattern pieces than are listed in the Price Tiers?

My pattern has less than 5 pieces, what is the pricing for that? How do you count pattern pieces? What about length variations?
Pricing starts at 5 pattern pieces, so a style with fewer than five pieces will still be priced as a 5-piece pattern. Pricing is the same as 5-piece. I count ALL pattern pieces that I have to provide, even if they seem simple. Sometimes, length variations may count as distinct pattern pieces.
