I will check your chinese tattoo or name as a native chinese translator
Native Chinese speaker, Chinese names and tattoo text
About this Gig
Worried about getting a wrong or meaningless Chinese tattoo? I'm Guanghua Li, a native Chinese speaker and professional Chinese-English translator living in China. I'll give you a Chinese name, personally checked by me, before it goes on your skin.
How it works:
- Send me your English name and the feel you want.
- I create name options in three styles: Warrior, Scholar and Monk (Basic gets my single best pick).
- Each option has the characters, pinyin and a plain-English meaning.
- I personally check every name for meaning, tone and how it reads to a native speaker, so no odd sounds or strange meanings.
Example: Alex becomes 力克 (Li Ke), Warrior style.
Depending on your package:
- 4000px HD PNG in a calligraphy-style font
- Print-ready PDF
- A short note on the meaning and how it reads on skin
Your tattoo artist does the design; I make sure the words are right.
Already have characters picked? I can check those too.
Note: I adapt names by sound and meaning, the way Chinese speakers really do it. I don't translate word for word, because that is where most bad tattoos come from.
I use my own AI-assisted tool to draft options, then review and sign off on every name myself.

FAQ
Will my name be translated or transliterated?
Mostly by sound. Chinese speakers adapt foreign names by picking characters that sound close to the original and also carry a good meaning. I won't do a literal word-for-word translation, since that is a common source of nonsense tattoos.
Simplified or Traditional characters?
Simplified is the default (used in mainland China and Singapore). Traditional is used in Taiwan and Hong Kong. Tell me your preference, or ask and I'll explain which suits you.
Is this good as a gift?
Yes. Many people order a name for a friend or partner. Give me their English name and a bit about their personality, and I'll suggest a name that fits. The PDF is ready to print and frame.
Can I show the result to someone else to check it?
Yes, and I encourage it. Every name comes with pinyin and a plain-English meaning, so any Chinese speaker you trust can confirm it before you tattoo it.
Can my tattoo artist use the files directly?
Standard and Premium include a tattoo stencil plus an HD PNG and a PDF. Ask your artist to work from the file and not to retype the characters in another font, since that is where stroke errors creep in.
