FAQ
Who has to file Form 5472?
US LLCs with one foreign owner (treated as disregarded entities) and US corporations that are at least 25% foreign-owned. Having no income does not remove the requirement.
What is a “pro forma 1120”?
A single-member LLC doesn’t normally file a corporate return. For this purpose, the IRS requires a bare-bones Form 1120 as the cover for Form 5472. A foreign-owned C corporation files a full Form 1120 instead.
What counts as a reportable transaction?
Money moving between you and your company, such as capital contributions, loans, distributions, and payments for services. I’ll ask for a summary and prepare the form from it.
Can you file my past-due years?
Possibly, but the facts matter, including whether the IRS has already sent a notice. Message me before ordering so I can tell you what’s possible.
