As a newspaper, magazine, and book editor with over 20 years of professional experience, I can provide targeted feedback with an eye toward your publishing goals. Along with a high-level, multipage manuscript evaluation, you'll receive detailed in-line comments and guidance on how to integrate feedback throughout your manuscript document.
I can work with fiction, nonfiction, and memoir. I bring a trauma-informed approach to working with memoirists who are writing about difficult subjects.

What types of editing do you offer?
I work with authors on all stages of the editing process, beta reading and developmental editing to line editing, copyediting, and proofreading. Not sure which type of edit you need for your project? Reach out and I’m happy to take a look at your manuscript and let you know!
What is the difference between a developmental edit and beta reading?
A developmental edit is much more in-depth and thorough. My beta reading package includes 1 page of feedback on what's working well with your manuscript and where to focus in revision, while my developmental edit package includes 3-5 pages of feedback as well as detailed in-line comments throughout.
What is the difference between a developmental edit and line edit?
A developmental edit is the first stage of editing, ideal for authors who have plans to revise the draft, and focuses on big-picture issues such as plot, pacing, organization, etc. A line edit is the second stage of editing, and focuses on line-level writing, flow, and readability.
Are you able to read through revisions based on the provided feedback?
Yes, I'm happy to do so, and this is an add-on service you'll find within the gig.
