About this gig
Hi, I'm Shogo, an interpreter for more than 10 years!
I've worked in the U.S. Army, interpreting between the U.S. Army and the Japanese Self-Defense Force in high-speed complex combat training, as well as in the IT field, working as a product manager!
I do consecutive interpretations. It is where I listen to you and understand what you are saying completely, and then interpret that to your partner, and vice versa. Live interpretation can be speedy but can also be very inaccurate and, many times, disturbing, having too many people talking at the same time. Therefore, I do not provide that service. My goal is to become part of your team and facilitate smooth communication between you and your Japanese counterpart.
I'm a transparent agent between you and your Japanese partner. I'm there, I'm helpful, but I'm not in the way.
In order to execute my task smoothly, please contact me and provide me with as much information as possible about the meeting, you, and your Japanese counterpart!
If my physical presence is necessary at a certain location, do let me know! I'm more than happy to work things out!
Looking forward to working with you!

FAQ
What kind of video calls can you interpret for?
I can interpret for any kind of video call that involves Japanese and English, such as business meetings, interviews, presentations, consultations, social chats, etc.
How do you ensure the quality and accuracy of your interpretation?
I have a high level of proficiency and fluency in both languages, as well as cultural and contextual knowledge. I also prepare in advance by reviewing the topic and the materials of the video call. I always check the audio and video quality before the call and use a headset and a quiet environment.
How do you handle confidential or sensitive information?
I respect the privacy and confidentiality of my clients and the speakers. I do not record or share any information from the video call without permission. I also follow the code of ethics and the professional conduct of interpreters.
What are your rates and delivery time?
My rates depend on the length, complexity, and urgency of the video call. I charge by the hour or by the minute, depending on your preference. The delivery time is the duration of the video call plus some extra time for preparation and feedback.
How do I book your service?
Please contact me before placing an order to discuss the details and availability of your project.
What if I need to cancel or reschedule the video call?
Please let me know as soon as possible if canceling or rescheduling is necessary. I understand that sometimes things happen unexpectedly, so I will try to accommodate your request. However, please note that if you cancel or reschedule less than 24 hours before the video call, you may be charged.
What if I have any issues or questions during or after the video call?
If you have any issues or questions during the video call, please let me know immediately and I will try to resolve them. If you have any feedback or questions after the video call, please feel free to contact me. I appreciate your honest and constructive feedback and I always strive to improve.
Do you offer any other services related to Japanese and English?
Yes, I do. Besides interpretation, I also offer translation, subtitling, voice-over, content creation, and more. You can check out my other gigs on Fiverr or contact me for a custom offer.
