I will post edit ai translated japanese manga webtoon scripts
About this Gig
Great manga dialogue shouldn't sound translated.
AI translation gets your manga or webtoon into Japanese quickly, but the lines come out flat: stiff phrasing, the same voice for every character, sound effects no Japanese reader would ever see in print. Readers can tell instantly.
I post-edit your AI/machine-translated Japanese script into natural, characterful dialogue, checked line by line against your English source.
Honest workflow, upfront: MT/AI makes the draft; I, a native Japanese speaker, rewrite every line. Raw MT is never delivered. If your project prohibits AI-assisted work, please don't order.
Please note: this gig is TEXT ONLY. You receive an edited script file to hand to your letterer. Lettering, typesetting and image editing are NOT included.
What you get:
- Natural dialogue with a distinct voice per character
- Consistent names, speech styles and terms across chapters
- Sound effects translated as text, listed by panel for your letterer
- Ambiguous lines flagged, with alternative phrasings
Send your script with the English source beside it. Long-running series? Message me for a custom offer.

FAQ
Do you use AI or machine translation?
Yes, and I say so upfront. MT/AI makes the draft; I rewrite and check every line myself as a native Japanese speaker. You never receive raw MT output. If your project prohibits AI assistance, I will decline the order rather than hide my workflow.
Is lettering included?
No — I want that to be clear before you order. You receive an edited text script, balloon by balloon, ready to hand to your letterer. Lettering, typesetting, redrawing and image editing are not part of this gig.
What format should I send the script in?
A spreadsheet, Word/Google Doc or text file with one line per balloon, ideally with page and panel numbers and the English source beside the Japanese. Only have the MT Japanese? Send it, and I'll tell you what I can verify.
Can you translate sound effects too?
Yes — as text. I render SFX as natural Japanese onomatopoeia and list each one with its panel number, so your letterer can draw them in. I don't draw them into the artwork myself.
Can different characters actually sound different?
Yes. Tell me each character's age, personality and how they should sound — rough, polite, childish, archaic. I keep every voice distinct and consistent across the whole script, including speech-style endings.
What do you NOT accept?
Legal, medical, financial or certified documents, academic work, and projects that prohibit AI assistance. Please also only send works you own or are licensed to translate — I can't work on unlicensed third-party titles.
What do revisions cover?
Wording preferences in the delivered script — tone, phrasing, name spellings, SFX choices. Adding new pages or a different version of the source is a new order. If I misread your source, fixing that is always free.
