FAQ
Can you make drawings of my part without consulting?
Yes! I have another gig available aimed at this type of deliverable. Please visit my home page and look for the gig titled "I will create mechanical drawings for manufacture". For that gig, I don't do design work to the level offered here, and it is less expensive.
Can you simulate my entire assembly?
Depends on the complexity. If the assembly can be simplified, it is possible. However, this service is intended to be for single parts only.
What type of experience do you have?
I am a mechanical engineer with an EIT certificate. I have been in the professional field for 7 years and worked in the tool and die, high power, and medical fields. I have designed components for air tools, power wheelchairs, large sheet metal enclosures, and much more!
What exactly are you offering?
This is intended to be an engineering service. As such, I expect there will be a bit of back-and-forth between you and me. I will work with you to make sure anything I design will work for your application and be optimized for manufacture based on your expected order volume.
Will you reverse engineer an item I have?
No, but I can create a product that meets a similar need. Reverse engineering often has strings attached (such as IP protections) that are not always visible, so I prefer to not reverse engineer a product you have.
Will you design an entire product for me?
Yes, I can create a whole product for you! This is different from this gig's intention and requires much more time than I quote on this gig page. Please reach out and we can discuss your need and updated pricing.
