I will prep and rhythm edit your multitrack session for mixing

About this gig
With over 25 years of waveform editing experience, I specialize in preparing multitrack audio for mixing and correcting timing issues while preserving natural feel. This service focuses on trimming, cleaning, fading, and rhythm editing to deliver organized, mix-ready tracks without forcing performances onto a rigid grid.
All editing is done by hand in the latest version of Pro Tools using professional tools including iZotope RX and Waves. I work with up to 24-bit / 96kHz audio and take a musical, feel-first approach to timing correction, what I often call human quantization.
As a musician and producer, I understand the difference between tight and lifeless. Whether working with acoustic drums, vocals, bass, guitars, or live multitrack recordings, my goal is to clean up timing mistakes and inconsistencies while keeping the performance intact and musical.
This service is ideal for artists and producers who want clean, organized sessions and improved groove before mixing, not creative arrangement changes or full mixing.

FAQ
What exactly does “mix prep” include?
Mix prep focuses on trimming, cleaning, fading, organizing, and rhythm-editing multitrack audio so it’s ready for mixing. This includes fixing timing mistakes, cleaning edits, and delivering consolidated, mix-ready files. It does not include mixing or creative production decisions.
What do you mean by “human quantization”?
Human quantization means correcting timing issues while preserving the natural feel of the performance. I prioritize groove and musicality over snapping everything perfectly to a grid. The goal is tighter, not mechanical.
Do you hard-quantize everything to the grid?
No. Grid-accurate quantization is only used when appropriate and specifically requested. By default, edits are done by ear to maintain feel, especially for live drums, bass, and rhythm instruments.
What types of sessions does this work best for?
This service is ideal for bands, producers, and artists working with live or recorded multitrack audio, including drums, bass, guitars, vocals, and hybrid live/electronic sessions that need cleanup and timing refinement before mixing.
Is mixing included?
No. This service prepares your tracks for mixing. It does not include EQ, compression, effects, balance, or creative mix decisions.
How many tracks are included?
This gig covers one song up to 24 tracks or stems and 8 minutes long. If your session larger and complex contact for a custom session quote.
Can you fix a badly recorded performance?
I can improve timing and cleanliness, but this service can’t replace a fundamentally broken performance. If something is outside reasonable correction, I’ll tell you upfront.
Do you work across different genres?
Yes. While the editing approach stays consistent, I work comfortably across rock, metal, funk, jazz, blues, and other groove-based styles where feel matters.
