I set up Linux servers properly the first time, so you are not paying someone else to rescue them later.

What I do:

- Fresh server or VPS provisioning on Debian, Devuan, Ubuntu or Red Hat family

- SSH hardening, firewall, fail2ban, automatic security updates, non-root users

- Containers with Docker or Podman, nginx or Apache, TLS certificates that renew themselves

- Automated backups you can actually restore from, plus a restore test to prove it

- Monitoring, log rotation, cron jobs and sane resource limits

- Migration from an old server, or rescue of one someone else configured

I have 25+ years on UNIX and Linux and I co-founded Devuan, a Linux distribution used worldwide. I work with any provider: Hetzner, OVH, DigitalOcean, AWS, Contabo or bare metal. If you prefer rootless Podman over Docker, that is my default too.

You get plain-language documentation of what was changed and why, so the next person who touches the server is not guessing.
