Your memoir deserves an editor who actually gets it.

Most editors treat a memoir like any other manuscript. Fix the commas, tighten the sentences, done. But memoir isn't just writing it's your life. The editing has to protect that.

That's what I do.

I work with memoir and non-fiction authors who have a real story to tell but need help making it land on the page. Maybe the timeline jumps around. Maybe a chapter drags. Maybe the voice is there but the structure isn't. Whatever it is I'll find it and fix it, without flattening the way you write.

What I actually do:

• Read the whole manuscript first, so I understand what you're trying to say before I touch a word
• Copy edit for clarity, grammar, and flow while keeping your voice intact
• Flag bigger issues (pacing, structure, repetition) so you can decide how to handle them
• Proofread the final version before you publish

What I don't do:

• Rewrite your book in my voice
• Over-edit until it sounds like everyone else's memoir
• Give you vague feedback like "this needs work"
