No matter how long or short the excerpt you hire me for, my feedback will be specific and clear, using what you are clearly good at to help areas where you can grow. Here are a few different areas I might cover and how I approach them. Of course, I cover a whole lot more too!
Plot: Does your plot make sense? Does it have holes? Is it cliched? How can you make your story fully original and YOURS?
Characters: Which of your characters are strong/weak/thin? How can you tweak them to make them better?
Theme: What is your book trying to say? What message do you want the reader to leave with?

What's the difference between your tiers?
The amount of notes I give you increases proportionally to the amount of words you give me. Tier 1 is 1-2 pages of notes, Tier 2 is 3-4 pages, and Tier 3 is 5-6 pages. Each tier, the notes get more and more detailed to not only improve your story, but you as a writer as well.
Can I add margin notes to any tier?
Yes, you sure can! It's only $40 to add margin notes to the whole manuscript. Margin notes are are line-by-line comments to walk you through, page-by-page, where the issues in your story lie.
What genres do you work with?
I work with anything that is narrative based, including fiction, memoir, and narrative non-fiction.
Can you focus your feedback on specific areas?
Absolutely. If you have an area, from character development, to pacing, to word choice, that you know is a problem, then tell me before I begin my notes. I will tailor them to address any issues you decide are most relevant to the editing process.
Do you work with unfinished drafts?
Absolutely! Wherever your manuscript is in the development process, I can help you to improve it, from incomplete first draft, to polished tenth draft.
