Google Maps Points of Interest (POI) are locations or places on the map that are notable and relevant to the map users, such as shops, restaurants, hotels, landmarks, tourist attractions, etc. These points are represented on the map with icons and can be searched, explored and navigated to by users.

Google Maps POIs are provided by Google and also by third-party sources. Google has a vast database of POIs which includes information such as business name, address, phone number, website, photos, and more. This information is used to help users find what they are looking for, as well as provide valuable insights for businesses to understand their customers better.

If you own a business, you can add or claim your business listing on Google Maps, and make sure the information is accurate and up-to-date. This will help customers find your business more easily and improve your visibility on Google Maps.

you can add labels, descriptions, images, and other information to points to provide more context and information to users.
