I will create a dos or windows application for you

About this gig
As a one-stop-shop, I can provide most
design services you will require for product development. Please review
my other gigs as well.
Please contact me first so we can agree on
a package based on your available requirements, specifications, and interface
needs. Prices and lead-time vary accordingly.
You are enlisting the service of a software / firmware engineer. I have written commercial DOS applications
since 1999 and have also provided Win32-based solutions. Interfaces to DLLs and COM are okay.
I am able to test under DOSBox, Windows
XP, or Windows 7.
A more complete requirements doc will yield
a better result. My process is as follows:
1. Contact me first with initial spec. for
a free consult.
2. After we agree on requirements, the
price, and the timeline, place an order.
3. I will create basic functionality for
your approval.
4. Upon approval, I will use your feedback
to refine the software and add user interface details that you provide.
5. We will iterate a few times to ensure
that it meets your undocumented needs.
6. Once you are satisfied, I will create a
release executable.
Any change beyond this point is considered
a revision.

FAQ
Can you modify an existing application?
It depends. I cannot do anything without the original source code. If you provide it and we can determine the original toolchain, it may be possible to make additions. Without the exact toolchain, I cannot make any guarantees. Contact me to discuss first.
Can you create a VBA application?
Absolutely. I have used VBA for a number of unorthodox purposes, ranging from time-based simulations to generation of binary .hex files. I use Office 2007 for testing and development.
Can I specify the language? What languages do you use?
I will accept language requests where it will not affect the timeline. I use C (C99/C11) with either Pelles C 7.0 or Microsoft Visual Studio Express (2010). I prefer PowerBASIC CC 6.0 / Win 10.0 for most cases. VBA is also an option if you prefer an Office interface.
DOS? Really?
Several PC/104 SBCs in industrial settings still use DOS. I can provide code that directly accesses ports. Or, if you are a customer seeking that retro look for a tool, I am proficient with creative solutions to DOS limitations. Graphics are okay.
