I will critique and developmentally edit your romantasy novel
Author, Editor with Wine High Press
About this Gig
You know what story you're trying to tell. My job is to help you see the story that's coming across.
I provide developmental editing and manuscript critiques for romantasy, contemporary & historical romance and fantasy. My focus is on the big-picture elements that make a story work: plot and structure, character development and emotional arcs, pacing, relationships, conflict and stakes, worldbuilding, and internal story logic.
I have a particular eye for the details that can make or break speculative fiction; magic systems, lore, prophecies, timelines, continuity, and whether the rules of your world remain consistent.
You'll receive a thoughtful written editorial report identifying whats working, where the story may be losing strength or clarity, and the areas I believe deserve your attention during revision. I won't try to rewrite your book into the story I would have written. My goal is to help you strengthen the story YOU are trying to tell while preserving your voice. Any of my editorial suggestions are just that; suggestions.
Please note: This is developmental editing, not line editing, copyediting, or proofreading. AI is NOT be used in my process.

FAQ
What's included in my Developmental Edit?
I focus on the big-picture elements of your story, including plot and structure, character development and emotional arcs, pacing, relationships, plot arc, worldbuilding, continuity, and internal story logic. You’ll receive a written editorial report explaining what’s working, what may need work.
Will you correct grammar, spelling, and sentences in my manuscript?
No. This is a Developmental Edit, so unless there's recurring craft issues that take away from the reader experience, I won't mention them. If you're looking for line by line editing, please see my Line Editing Service.
What happens after I receive my editorial report? Can I ask questions or get another revision?
Developmental feedback can give you a lot to think about! You’re welcome to ask questions or request clarification about the feedback in your report for 14 days after delivery. Revisions are not offered, however I'm happy to do a "Second Look" at reduced cost. See my Second Look Service
What genres do you specialize in?
I specialize in fantasy, romantasy, and speculative fiction, including stories with complex worldbuilding, magic systems, supernatural elements, mythology, lore, and romance. If your manuscript blends genres and you’re unsure whether it’s a good fit, feel free to message me before ordering.
Does my manuscript need to be finished before I order?
No, my Basic and Standard packages can be used for opening chapters or a partial manuscript. I’ll evaluate the pages you provide with what you provide. For a complete assessment of your story’s structure, character arcs, pacing, and resolution, choose the Premium package with a completed manuscript.
My manuscript is longer than the package word count. Can you still edit it?
Yes. Please contact me before ordering if your manuscript exceeds the listed word count so we can make sure the order includes the additional word count and enough delivery time for a thorough review.
Will you tell me how to rewrite my book?
No. I’ll identify problems, explain why they may be affecting the story, and offer possible approaches or questions to consider during revision. I won’t rewrite your book into the story. My goal is to help YOU strengthen YOUR vision, characters, and voice.
