What is included in a line edit?
I’ll edit your manuscript at the sentence and paragraph level for clarity, flow, rhythm, readability, wordiness, repetition, dialogue, character voice, consistency, grammar, spelling, and punctuation issues I notice along the way. Your edited manuscript will be returned with tracking changes.
Will you rewrite my manuscript in your voice?
No. My goal is to strengthen YOUR writing, not make it sound like mine. I’ll suggest changes that improve clarity, flow, and impact while preserving your individual author voice and the tone of your story.
Is this the same as proofreading?
No. While I’ll correct errors I encounter, line editing focuses primarily on how your prose reads and feels. A final proofread is still recommended after revisions and final formatting, especially before publication.
Does this include developmental or structural editing?
Structural feedback is included with my Standard and Premium packages and focuses on issues such as pacing, scene effectiveness, organization, and narrative flow. It is not a full developmental edit. Structural feedback can be added to the Basic package as an optional extra.
What genres do you edit?
I specialize in fantasy, romantasy, and speculative fiction, including stories with complex worldbuilding, magic, supernatural elements, mythology, and romance. If your manuscript blends genres and you’re unsure whether we’re a good fit, feel free to message me before ordering.
Can I send you my revised manuscript for another pass?
Absolutely. A second-pass review is not included in the original order, but returning clients can request a custom offer based on manuscript length and the extent of the revisions.
What file format should I send?
Microsoft Word (.docx) is preferred so I can use Track Changes and comments. Please send a clean, editable version of your manuscript rather than a PDF.
