What do you need from me to get started?
Please share a sketch, reference photo, drawing, existing CAD file, or available dimensions. If known, include the material, sheet thickness, bend radius, and intended cutting and bending process. If some details are missing, explain what the part needs to do, and we can clarify the requirements.
Can you design a sheet metal part from a sketch or photo?
Yes. I can develop a sheet metal design from a sketch, photo, reference drawing, rough dimensions, or existing CAD file. The available dimensions and manufacturing requirements help establish the design accurately.
Will I receive flat patterns and DXF/DWG files for laser cutting?
Yes. Flat patterns and DXF/DWG cutting files are included according to your selected package. Flat pattern accuracy depends on the material, thickness, bend radius, and bending setup. If your fabricator provides a K-factor or bend table, please share it.
Will I receive editable CAD source files?
Yes. SolidWorks latest version native files and STEP files are included. Older SolidWorks versions may not support native-file editing. Other CAD formats, including Inventor and Fusion 360, are available upon request and confirmation.
Are technical drawings included in every package?
Yes. Basic includes 1 technical drawing, Standard 4, and Premium 9. Packages also include 3D CAD files in STEP format and 2D flat-pattern files in DXF/DWG format, as specified.
What does the Premium DFM review include?
The DFM review identifies potential design and fabrication issues, such as missing bend relief, short flanges, or holes positioned too close to bends. It helps flag issues for review before fabrication but does not guarantee manufacturing results or replace validation by your fabricator.
How do revisions work?
Each package includes a specific number of revisions. Revisions cover adjustments to the agreed requirements within the original scope. New features, substantial redesigns, or changes to the agreed scope may require an additional offer.
Can you handle complex assemblies or projects with multiple parts?
Yes. Standard covers up to 4 individual parts plus 1 assembly. Premium covers up to 8 individual parts plus 1 assembly. For larger projects, message me before ordering to confirm scope, deliverables, and timeline.
