I will proofread your fiction manuscript

This level of editing is a final check for documents that are almost ready for submission or publication. It includes:

• Correcting spelling, grammar, punctuation, and (optional) formatting
• Ensuring consistency of names, dates, numbers, etc.
• Verifying accuracy of obvious facts (e.g., The dog is brown.)

Proofreading does NOT address major plot or structural issues, nor does it correct mechanical errors on more than a surface level.

My process has been optimized for Word documents, so PDFs that need proofread in Acrobat will require a longer turnaround time. I do not format manuscripts for publication, as this is its own service, but I do check that those already formatted in PDFs are correct and consistent.

You'll receive two copies of your edited manuscript: one displaying every change and comment I've made using Track Changes, and a second copy with my changes applied but the comments still visible. That way, you can easily find and address any issues.
