It is important to get representation right. Your readers notice when a character who shares their identity feels authentic. A sensitivity read ensures your characters feel like real people with real experiences.

As a published author and experienced reader specializing in romance, women's fiction, literary fiction, and contemporary fiction, I bring both a reader's instinct and a writer's understanding to every manuscript I review. I read for race and cultural identity and gender and sexuality.

I promise I won't rewrite your story or push an agenda. What I will do is read your manuscript carefully, flag anything that could alienate, offend, or misrepresent the communities you're writing about, and suggest ways to fix it.
