It's essential to have your work read by many before its release. Some authors have upwards of 50 betas! Of course, this is unnecessarily high, and a solid 4-5 should be perfect to nail your problems. Friends and family will be supportive, but it is an official beta who will be blunt and honest, carefully picking apart months of hard work so you can put out your best work possible. That's where I come in!
An avid reader in multiple genres, I find most books available on Kindle Unlimited or similar spaces to have terrible plot holes, flat characters, strange world development, and unnecessary fillers that will drive the reader away before finishing the story you have so painstakingly created. I will help pick up on the worst of it, pointing out the humor, as well as awkward sentencing.
NOTE: This is not a developmental edit.
I will provide in-line comments and a short report with what I liked/disliked, if I was hooked, etc. There is a list of questions I go through to help you fix the most important aspects of your book. Mostly, WORLDBUILDING.

What are some things you will be looking at?
Similar to a developmental editor, I will take these into account: - Introduction/Hook - Story Structure - Plot and Pacing - Character Development/Realistic portrayal - Setting/Worldbuilding - Consistency - Dialogue - Readability
Do you also proofread the manuscript?
I know how many times an author needs to comb through those pesky typos to catch them all. If I notice your manuscript is ready for an edit, I'll catch them for you, yes. If it's unedited (please, at least run it through the Doc spellcheck), I'll mention there is a lot of work to do yet.
Do you give advice about how to move forward?
Of course! If you ask, I'll be happy to help. As a writer myself, I understand the importance of helping one another stand and fly. My comments will usually point you in the right direction, as well.
How do I send my manuscript?
Please send me a copy of the word docx or a Google doc link, as I prefer to make inline comments there, but I'm flexible. I am able to comment on PDF, as well.
What makes for a great story?
Incredible worldbuilding, where the reader seamlessly enters character's minds and sees the world as they do. Great hooks and cliffhangers. Realistic and flawed characters. Honest chemistry shown through dialogue.
What's the difference between a developmental edit and beta reading?
As a beta reader, one is not obligated to make any edits. He/she will give back overall impressions on different aspects of your novel, but will not write long reports about changes to be made or correct as they go along. Think of it as tracked changes vs fun/constructive comments.

Exactly what I was looking for in a beta reader with a quick turnaround to boot. The manuscript comments were super helpful and how she worded them made me look forward to editing those sections.
