A hosted model is capable and costs per message. A model on the phone is free to run and works offline, but it is small, so it suits focused tasks. Almost every app wants one, not both. Send me what your app does and I will tell you which, and what it costs to run each month.

Which kind of AI does my app actually need?
Tell me what the app does and I will tell you before you order. Answers from your own data - grounded chat. Reads a photo - vision. Must work with no signal - a model on the device. Should act rather than reply - actions. Most apps need one of these, not all of them.
What will it cost me to run each month?
A hosted model bills per message, so I give you a figure for your expected volume before you order, not after launch. A model on the device costs nothing per message, ever - the trade is a one-time download of about 500-600 MB inside the app.
Does it work offline?
It can. I have shipped an app that runs its model entirely on the phone: it answers with no connection, and nothing the user types leaves the device. That is the Standard package. A hosted model always needs a connection.
Can you add AI to an app I already have?
Yes, and it is the most common order. Send me the repository - Flutter, native Android or native iOS. Basic is exactly this: one AI feature added to a working app, wired server-side so no key ships in the build.
Who owns the code and the API keys?
You do, both. Full source at delivery. The keys are made on your own OpenAI or Anthropic account and stay there - I never hold your billing, and you are never locked to me to keep the app running.
Will my data be used to train a model?
Not on my setup. API traffic to OpenAI and Anthropic is not used for training by default on the paid tiers, and an on-device model sends nothing anywhere. If your data cannot leave your own infrastructure, say so and I will build it on-device.
