About this gig

Some tools just work better as an actual app instead of a website living in a browser tab. Something that opens with an icon, runs offline if it needs to, and doesn't feel like it's borrowing space from Chrome.

I build these using Electron, JavaScript, Node.js, and HTML/CSS under the hood. I've shipped a handful of these already, mix of personal builds and client work, so this isn't a first attempt at figuring out packaging and installers, it's something I've actually done more than once.

Good fit for:

  • Turning an existing web app into a proper desktop app
  • Building a small internal tool for a business (dashboards, trackers, utilities)
  • A desktop client for a service that currently only runs in-browser
  • Something that needs local file access, system tray integration, or offline use that a website can't do

Right now I'm scoping this specifically for Windows builds. If you need Mac or Linux too, ask me before ordering and I'll let you know if that's something we can work out.

I'll walk you through what's actually possible before we start, Electron is powerful but it's not magic, and I'd rather tell you upfront what fits your idea than overpromise and scramble later.
