Do I need my own OpenAI or Claude API key?
Yes for most builds — I'll walk you through creating one, it takes about five minutes. Your key stays server-side and is never exposed in the frontend. If you'd rather not manage one, I can set up an open-source model instead. Just ask before ordering.
Will this work on my WordPress / Shopify / Webflow site?
Yes. I integrate into all three, plus React, Next.js, and plain HTML. Shopify and Webflow use an embed script; WordPress can use a script or a small plugin. Send me your site URL and I'll confirm the approach before you order.
What content can the chatbot be trained on?
Website pages, PDFs, help docs, FAQ lists, product catalogues, pricing sheets, and spreadsheets. Basic covers up to 20 pages. Standard and Premium connect directly to a live database or API so the answers update automatically.
Can it do more than answer questions?
Yes — that's the Standard and Premium tiers. The agent can book appointments, check inventory, create support tickets, qualify leads, and push data into your CRM. Tell me the actions you need and I'll confirm what's possible.
How do you stop it from making things up?
The bot answers from your content only, with retrieval grounding and a strict system prompt. When it doesn't know, it says so and offers a handoff to a human instead of guessing. I test this before delivery.
Who owns the code?
You do, fully. You get the complete source, deployment docs, and instructions for updating the training content yourself. No lock-in, no monthly fee to me unless you buy the maintenance extra.
What are the ongoing costs?
Only your API usage, paid directly to the provider. For a typical small business site that runs roughly $5–$30 a month depending on traffic. I'll estimate yours before you order and show you how to set a spend cap.
Do you offer revisions if the answers aren't right?
Yes. Revisions cover prompt tuning, tone adjustments, and retraining on corrected content. They don't cover new features that weren't in the original scope — those I'll quote as a custom offer.
