Do I need a WhatsApp Business (WABA) account?
Yes, a free Meta/WhatsApp Business Account is required to send via the API. If you don't have one, I'll guide you through creating it during setup. It takes about 15–20 minutes, and you keep full ownership.
Can I use my existing personal WhatsApp number?
No. The number used for API sending can't also be active on the regular WhatsApp or Business app. I recommend a fresh/dedicated number (even a cheap SIM or virtual number) for notifications. Your personal WhatsApp stays untouched.
What's this about template approval?
Business-initiated WhatsApp messages must use a template that Meta pre-approves. I will write and submit it for you. Approval usually takes up to 48h. I handle the wording so it passes first time.
How much does the WhatsApp API cost to run?
Meta charges per message, by category and recipient country. Notification (utility) messages are very cheap — often a fraction of a cent — and replies inside a 24h customer window are free. For low form volume, expect near-zero monthly cost.
Will this break my existing form or email notifications?
No. Your current form logic and email alerts continue to work exactly as they are. I add the WhatsApp notification as an extra layer on top.
Can it send to multiple people or a team?
