I will design true crime and documentary youtube thumbnails
Derek D.
About this gig
Dark, cinematic thumbnails for true crime, bodycam breakdown, mystery and history documentary channels.
Every order comes as an A/B pair: two versions of the same video's thumbnail with a different hook, layout or accent color, so you can run YouTube's Test & Compare and keep the one your audience picks.
The look I build for this niche:
- Moody color grade with one accent color
- 2 to 4 hook words that stay legible on a phone screen
- Story clues (an open door, an empty car, a case file) instead of shock imagery
- No gore or graphic content, in line with YouTube's thumbnail policy
How an order works:
1. Share your title, the angle of the story and any stills or photos you have the rights to use
2. I design both versions at 1280x720
3. Delivery as PNG plus JPG, with 1 revision included
Running a faceless channel that uploads every week? The 3 and 5 thumbnail packages keep your series visually consistent from episode to episode.
Not sure which package fits? Check the FAQ below or send me a message here on Fiverr first.

I'm a graphic designer who specializes in YouTube thumbnails and eye-catching visuals for creators. My focus is simple: make your video the one people click. I design bold, high-contrast thumbnails with big readable text that pop in the feed and look great on a phone. I work across gaming, finance, travel, tech, cooking, fitness and more, and I tailor every design to your channel's style. Fast turnaround, clear communication, and revisions until you're happy. Send me your video idea and let's get you more views!

FAQ
What exactly is an A/B pair?
Two finished versions of one thumbnail. They differ in a meaningful way, such as a new hook, a new layout or a new accent color, not just a recolor. Upload both to YouTube's Test & Compare, or pick one yourself.
Will you show real crime scenes or victims?
No. I tell the story through details and mood, never gore or graphic content. If you send photos of real people, you must have the rights to use them, and I won't alter anyone's face or create a likeness of a real person.
Can you match my existing channel style?
Yes. Share your channel or a few thumbnails you like, and I'll keep your fonts, colors and layout consistent. The Series Pack is built for that.
Do you do bodycam and history mysteries too, or only true crime?
All of them: case breakdowns, bodycam and interrogation breakdowns, unsolved mysteries, and history or disaster documentaries.
