What qualifies as a "Complex Piece"?
Complex pieces involve very fast tempos (lots of notes), dense chords, or polyphony. These require significantly more time for manual "by ear" transcription. If you are unsure about the difficulty of your track, please send me the audio before ordering for a custom quote!
Do you transcribe jazz solos or complex improvisations?
Yes! As a professional musician, I specialize in complex ear training. Please select the "Complex Piece" extra or message me for a custom quote if the solo is particularly dense.
Can you transcribe low-quality recordings?
Yes! As long as the melody is audible, I can transcribe it. If you're unsure about the quality, please send me the file before ordering for a free evaluation.
Can I open the source file in older MuseScore versions?
I work exclusively in MuseScore 4 to ensure the best layout and engraving quality. While the files aren't backward compatible, I provide MusicXML and MIDI files which can be opened in any version of MuseScore, Sibelius, Finale, or other notation software.
What if some instruments are buried in the mix?
In complex ensembles like orchestras, if some parts aren't clearly audible, I will use musical logic and orchestration principles to fill the gaps (e.g., doubling audible lines). This ensures a full, rich score that is ready for performance.
What formats do I receive?
You will receive a print-ready PDF score, MIDI files, MusicXML for further editing, and the original MuseScore (.mscz) file.

I used Tin again, and I certainly wasn't disappointed! I gave him a few fairly complicated pieces, and he was able to deliver them all perfectly, and EARLY (that's something you don't see too often anymore). I'm excited to continue working with him!
