I will line and copy edit short fiction

In brief, my editing service includes the following:

• editing to clarify meaning, ensure coherence and flow at the paragraph and sentence level, and refine the language; and
• editing to ensure correct and consistent grammar, punctuation, spelling and usage.

I edit to help the author make their project the best they can make it and to help the reader have the best reading experience. My editing style is direct and kind communication. I only correct what is inarguable and otherwise leave many notes and suggestions for the author to take or leave while keeping their authentic style.

You will provide me with a completed short story or novella that you have written, edited, and are very proud to share. My job is to catch technicalities and make sure it's a smooth reading experience for the reader.

I will thoroughly read your story and make corrections to grammar, punctuation, and sentence structure, and make suggestions on clarity, consistency, and language. I work in Canadian or American English.

I will provide a style sheet, editor's notes, and reader feedback.

I will work on your document in Microsoft Word. You will receive .docx files with tracked changes and comments.
