Please send over the highest quality audio in WAV or AAC format.

Make sure to label all of your takes so I know which are leads, harmonies, ad- libs and back ups.

Please send a reference track so I can get the timing correct.

If available, please send tempo and key information of your song (I can identify this using software if you do not have it).

Send all track stems if possible. This allows me to remove frequencies that clash with your vocal from other instrument parts. If you only have the track or beat as a single file this is fine.

Try recording at different distances from the mic. When singing loud parts: take a step back so you can record aggressively without peaking the recording. When singing backup vocals and harmonies: try standing a few feet back from the mic to give your vocals distance.

Don't record too loud or too quiet. It's very hard to repair audio that is too loud, so make sure your recording is not in the reds. If your audio is too quiet, unwanted noise may be brought up in the mixing process.

Try not to move around too much when recording. Keep a steady position so the vocals record at good level. Try not to knock the microphone or cable when recording

If you have no acoustic treatment: try to record in a room with low echo/reflections. A room with a bed or sofa in helps. A mattress against a wall is better than an empty room.

Use a pop shield. Use closed back headphones when monitoring. This reduces audio bleed from the headphones into the mic. Set the mic at the correct level to your mouth. If you have a small space: set the mic up in the middle of the room.
