What is an objection?
An objection, aka office action, aka "Examiner's report" in Canada is a letter from the Trademarks Office asking for more details before your trademark can be approved or saying that your mark is not registrable.
Can I extend a deadline?
No, you can't ask for an extension in the US. That means you have to respond within 6 months. Yes, you can ask for a 6-month extension of time in Canada. There is no fee for that.
Can't I just respond myself?
You can, but in the US, if your response is not successful you will receive a final refusal, which is much more difficult to overcome.
Will you give me advice?
I am a trademark agent so cannot give legal advice. However, I can give you recommendations how to improve your chances to achieve registration.
What if I got a confusion or descriptiveness objection?
