I will fix php2shell PHP vulnerability with an emergency patch and mitigation

About this gig
On Oct 20, 2026 the PHP team announced fixes for "php2shell" (CVE-2026-109618 / CVE-2026-109619, CVSS v4.0 9.2), a remote code execution flaw in Session Upload Progress (ext/session). Both mod_php and php-fpm are affected, so WordPress, Laravel and Symfony sites may be at risk.
Not sure if your site is affected, or nervous about touching server settings? I will handle it for you.
What I do:
- Impact check: PHP version, SAPI (mod_php / php-fpm) and session settings
- Interim mitigation until the patch is applied (e.g. session.upload_progress.enabled=0)
- Patch: update to the fixed PHP release (control panel or SSH)
- Fix errors caused by the update (deprecated functions, plugin issues)
- Log review and file permission check
How I work:
- Send your hosting provider/plan, PHP version and site type
- I confirm the impact and scope before starting
- Full backup first, then mitigation and patch
- Test pages, forms and admin
- Written report of what I checked and changed
On shared hosting, PHP updates may be done by the host; I then verify your settings and the host's status.
I usually start within 24 hours. English and Japanese.

FAQ
Is my site affected?
Any site running PHP may be. I check your PHP version, SAPI and session settings first and tell you before doing any work.
What if my host hasn't released the fixed PHP version yet?
I apply the interim mitigation first, then update PHP as soon as the fixed release is available on your server.
Will updating PHP break my site?
I take a full backup before any change and test the site afterwards. If anything breaks, I fix it or restore the backup.
