FAQ
What do I need to send you to get started?
A sketch, photo, reference product or written description is enough. Key dimensions help most. If you only have an idea, I'll ask a few focused questions and confirm scope before modeling starts.
Which package should I choose?
Basic: one part. Standard: a product with several parts that needs drawings and renders. Premium: a complete product going to a manufacturer. Unsure? Message me your files and I'll recommend the right one.
Will my design actually be manufacturable?
That is the focus of this gig. I design for your chosen process: draft, wall thickness and ribs for injection molding, tool access for CNC, bend rules for sheet metal, clearances for 3D printing. Risks are flagged before you pay for tooling.
What files will I receive?
STEP (opens in any CAD software), native SolidWorks or Fusion 360 files, STL for 3D printing, PDF/DWG technical drawings and PNG renders, depending on the package.
Can you sign an NDA before I share my idea?
Yes. Send your NDA before sharing details and I'll review and sign it. Your files and design stay confidential and are never used in my portfolio without your permission.
Can you design from a photo or an existing product?
Yes. Photos plus a few measured dimensions let me model or redesign an existing part. For precise reverse engineering, caliper measurements or a 3D scan give the best accuracy.
Can you fix or modify my existing CAD file?
Yes. Send the STEP or native file with your changes. I'll review it and confirm whether it fits a package or needs a custom offer.
Do you make prototypes or manufacture the product?
I deliver design and engineering files, not physical parts. The files are ready to send to 3D printing services, machine shops or factories for quotes.
What counts as a revision?
A revision is a change within the agreed scope: dimensions, features, details. New features or a different concept after approval are quoted separately, so you always know the cost first.
Do you create renders for Kickstarter, Amazon or investors?
Yes. Standard and Premium include KeyShot renders. Extra renders, exploded views and color variants are available as gig extras.
