WHY AN ENGINEER AND NOT A GENERALIST

Technical text is full of words with two meanings. Commit, thread, handle, instance: each has an everyday meaning and a precise technical one, and picking the wrong one quietly breaks the sentence for the person who has to use it. I have written the kind of software these texts describe, so I know which meaning is meant.
